Even flowers are attempting the trend!

Let’s face it, going red has become the new blonde. From Hollywood movie stars to models gracing the runway, red hair is one of the hottest trends this season. So why go red? Here are our top 5 reasons!

Painting tinsel town red

Nowadays everyone from Rihanna to Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively is sporting gorgeous flaming locks. Word on the street is that Scarlett Johansson and Mandy Moore are hopping in on the trend too! (Click on the links to see the starlets rocking fiery tresses!)

It doesn’t have to be expensive!

Although only 5% percent of the population is blessed with red hair, you can still go red and keep it on the cheap. Henna, a natural based alternative, usually lasts for a few weeks, and is cheaper than hair dye and less damaging too (double plus!).

Because blue is a hot color this summer!

From aqua nails, to the little blue dress, blue is one of the hottest hues this summer. What better way to flaunt the look, than compliment it with red hair!

There’s a shade for everybody

You don’t have to attempt the bright red hair Rihanna sports in order to be a true redhead. There are a wide variety of different shades of red, one for each skin tone. Just make sure the shade of red flatters your skin tone; cool skin tones (those with naturally bluish-black, dark brown, medium-ash or golden-blonde hair) should stick with more burgundy and garnet shades. Those with warmer skin tones (those with naturally red, reddish or golden-brown, deep brown, strawberry-blonde or natural golden-blonde hair) are suited more for copper and strawberry shades.

Because redheads are fierce!!!

Maybe I’m biased (aspiring redhead), but redheaded women are fierce. Don’t believe me? Just watch Deborah Ann Woll on True Blood or Christina Hendricks (pictured above) in Mad Men!

Look out blondes and brunettes!
