I’m all out of Kleenex.

With midterms ending and the transition from Fall to Winter beginning, it’s common to get tired and run down…but what is there to do to avoid this?

The end of the semester is right around the corner and the last thing we need is something like a cold slowing us down.

The first thing way to avoid this is to get a flu shot. It may be inconvenient adding this to your list of things to do, but the last thing you want is to get the flu around the holidays.

In the midst of final projects and studying, we always forget to take the time to relax every once in a while.  Constantly being on the go and working makes your body tired and there comes a time when you need to just stop. Even though it may seem like there’s not enough time in the day…make the time. If you find it hard to focus on something take a break, watch T.V or read a book, then come back to your work. 

Even though at this point in our lives we all know how important it is to get enough sleep, it still can’t be stressed enough. Staying up until all hours of the night doing homework and then waking up for class the next morning is just asking for it. To avoid getting sick, your body needs sleep. And if you feel like you’re starting to get sick, go to sleep early or take naps during the day to let your body rejuvenate itself.

Making a cup of tea every morning helps get the chill out of your body after you’ve been out, or even before you take a step outside. It also helps give you energy and the warmth will wake you up. If you don’t like tea, coffee or hot chocolate will work as well. 

Lastly, check the weather before going anywhere. Make sure you’re dressing in layers. Everyone loves a cute scarf or bright colored peacoat! 

The semester is almost over, so don’t let a cold get in the way!
