Have fun with facials!
Let’s face it — there is no such thing as “perfect skin,” but there is something called clear skin. Usually when you have acne, its main causes are toxins, clogged pores, excessive oil, and dead skin cells. If you ignore these symptoms, they develop over time and become pimples and blackheads. Acne is also caused by stress, and since finals are just around the corner, these tips will help you avoid acne and give you clean healthy skin!

Of course you can always buy your skin products, but honestly, most of the time I don’t even know what ingredients they contain — making your own skin treatments is beneficial because you know what is in them. So have a few of your friends over and do a spa night! Here are a few recipes to try at home or in your dorm.

Egg White Mask (for all types of skin)
· 1 egg
· (optional) cucumber slices for the eyes

Beat the egg white until frothy. Apply onto your face. After 30 minutes rinse clean with warm water and then cold water. Pat your face with a soft towel and finish with a moisturizer to “seal” your skin.

Oatmeal and Yogurt Mask (for all types of skin)
· 1 tbsp of oatmeal, finely ground
· 1 tbsp of organic plain yogurt (skip the flavored stuff)
· A few drops of honey
· (optional) cucumber slices for the eyes

Mix together the yogurt and oatmeal in a small bowl. Add the honey into the mixture. Apply and leave it on for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat your face dry with a soft towel.

Pumpkin Mask (for all skin types)

· ½ cup of fresh pumpkin pulp
· 2 eggs
· 2 teaspoons of almond milk (for oily and dry skin)
· 1 teaspoon of honey (for dry skin)
· 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar or cranberry juice ( for oily skin)
· (optional) cucumber slices for the eyes

Purée the fresh pumpkin pulp for a thick paste, then add the eggs (this acts as a binder). If your skin is dry, stir in omega-rich almond milk and the honey. For an oilier complexion, stir in apple cider vinegar or cranberry juice. Mix well and apply, leave mask on for 15-20 minutes (depending on your skin sensitivity). Rinse with cool water and moisturize as usual.
