Winter isn’t exactly everyone’s favorite season: the days are shorter, the wind is chillier, and we’re all hoping the days fly by until carefree, super warm summer returns. January means that the Christmas festivities are over, our closets are chock full of furs and sweaters, and as you might have guessed, I’m feeling a little sad about it.
But my dreary mood isn’t due to post-holiday season sadness; I’m actually excited to take a break from fashion’s reds, greens, and golds to welcome a new colorful hue into my winter wardrobe: peacock blue. This popular 2012 winter bright has caught my attention for a while, but now that celebs and style bloggers like Blake Lively, This Time Tomorrow’s Krystal, Lauren Conrad, The Glamourai’s Kelly, and Emma Roberts are sporting this brilliant shade, I can’t seem to get enough of it.
And now that you’ve seen these stylistas sport it, you’re itching to try the color on too — am I right?
This season, while you’re donning your typical winter neutrals, add a pop of peacock into your everyday attire. For those wanting a head to toe boldness, try a chic blue dress with a pair of black tights and heeled booties for your next night out or pair a slouchy tan sweater with a pair of edgy blue (literally) jeans.
For those of you wanting a pinch of peacock pizazz, try a gorgeous hued handbag, throw a luxxe scarf around your neck, or get a little studious with some chic blue nerd glasses.
This winter, it’s okay to have the blues — just make sure you get a healthy dose of fashion therapy in this gorgeous shade.
