A great, sturdy bag that fits everything you need in your busy day — your cellphone, camera, and some touch-up lipstick — isn’t hard to find. But affordable designer bags that will last forever are a little more difficult to come by. Well, until I found Deux Lux, that is.

I’m a self-proclaimed bag hoarder, but have a definite price range that I’ll spend on a new purse. Usually it’s rare to come across a bag that fits all of the qualities on my checklist, but when I came across Deux Lux’s collection, I was shocked to find so many options that are within my college budget.

Deux Lux, which has been featured in both Oprah and Lucky magazine, has my favorite bag-of-the-moment, messengers, to sparkly duffles and totes, and the majority of them are under $100. Most designer bag have all of the same qualities, except they have a $1,000 price tag, and for us college students, the only $1,000 we’re going to spend is paying back student loans.

I was able to review the Paris Messenger Bag (check it out right here!), and I’m kind of in love. It’s just the right size to fit everything I need to go out to dinner or for a night out with my friends. The material used feels smooth and very leather-esque, and each stitch is so precise and perfect. I also love the detailing of the gold chain on the strap and the gem that twists to open and close the bag. There are absolutely no flaws to this beautiful bag. At only $60 for the mini version, the price can’t be beat.

Not only does Deux Lux have adorable, classy messenger bags (that give off an Audrey Hepburn vibe!), but they also have some of the most stylish, trendy bags for spring as well. This season is all about bright colors, and they have the perfect addition to any girl’s collection. I’m loving the bright pink and sequin Electric Avenue Small Duffle, which will be available mid-April, and the Bowery B-Sides Mini Messenger.

If you’re looking for a fun, inexpensive way to brighten up your bag collection, this is the perfect place to do it.
