Going out on a date should be fun and exciting, but now you’re asking yourself “what should I wear?” You could spend hours and hours in your closet looking for the ideal outfit and you will never be ready. Or, you could keep reading this fabulous article and be out with your date in less time than you think by simply following some of my little style tips!
I put together a few date ideas and a few outfits that I found helpful and wanted to share them with you:
Comedy Club Date: ”The couple that laughs together stays together”… with that said this night is all about pure fun and being out with your other half! Since you’re going to be at a comedy club, keep your outfit nice and simple but don’t be afraid to have fun with accessories. Throw on a pair of cute wedges, and grab your favorite little clutch and a few bracelets. Just remember–don’t over-do it; you want people to laugh with, you not at you!
Dinner at a Fine Restaurant: First of all, your clothing selection will depend on the type of restaurant you attend. Dinner at a restaurant is the ideal first date, and if it’s your first date, I’m glad you’re reading this. You can never go wrong with an LBT (Little Black Dress). Generally you can wear something sexier or more casual, but sticking to a classic LBT is the safest–especially if you wear it with a skinny belt to cinch you at the waist. After that, nothing can go wrong when selecting shoes and accessories because anything goes with the color black.
Art Gallery Date: A trip to the local art gallery makes a great date for the artsy couple, or if you just want to mix it up from the same old dinner and a movie. I would put together a colorful skirt with a pastel colored blouse, a little belt to bring it together, and heels. Then for accessories, wear pearls–either a pearl necklace, earrings or bracelets. (But please don’t wear all of them together because it will look like too much.) I would say that this look is very romantic and casual, which is perfect for an art gallery!
Movie Date: I’m not talking about going to a local movie theater and seeing a movie–I’m talking about renting a movie and watching it at home. Personally, this is a much more private and intimate date because it’s just you and him in a comfortable couch with blankets and a few snacks. What could be better than that? This kind of date does not require a lot of glamour, but you should still wear something decent and casual like shorts, a shirt and flats. For accessories, you could wear a super cute headband and a little jewelry.
Concert/Festival Date: Concerts are very popular choices for dates. The average concert lasts three to five hours, so it’s important to dress comfortably but fashionably. I would wear a romper because it’s pretty like a dress and comfortable like shorts. And the best part? There are endless possibilities to accessorize a romper. I would wear a cute little fedora, a sleeveless jean jacket, sunglasses, jewelry, and sleek strappy metallic gladiator sandals.
Now that you’ve read my ideas for dates and what to wear for those dates, I want to know all the details on your date! What are your going to do for hair and makeup? Did these dates work out pretty well? What do you think of my choices? Leave a comment below!
