I never thought I’d be the one to say this, but I love the Kardashians.  You can ask my best friend for further details about why this is surprising: I’ve always said how much I can’t stand Kim Kardashian.  I’ve gone on rants about how spoiled the sisters are and how they are only famous for their beauty. Well, I still think that Kim is completely obnoxious, but her family has one of the most entertaining shows on television.  So, don’t knock it before you’ve watched it.  This show has a lot to offer, even if it only provides one with a headache or a headshake.

I’ve become obsessed with E!’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians.  Whenever I see that a marathon is about to come on the air, I drop everything I’m doing and watch every episode.  The popular show documents the lives of the Kardashian-Jenner family, consisting of:  Kris Jenner (formerly Kris Kardashian), Bruce Jenner, the lovely Kardashian sisters, Kourtney, Khloe, and Kim, Rob, and Kylie and Kendall Jenner.

This huge family is a crazy mix, but now I know why everyone loves them:  they’re just like us.  Sure, Kim is a bit of an airhead and completely into herself, but don’t we all have a friend like that?  Kourtney is the pretty one with a ton of neuroticism, and Khloe is the Jan Brady of the bunch: friendly and fun, but always in the middle.  Kris and Bruce argue like any married couples – she frequently tunes him out when he tries to be the voice of reason, while he still loves her even when she’s being a little out of hand.

The Kardashian-Jenner clan is an interesting one.  They are one of those families that you love to hate and hate to love.  So again, take the time out of your day to watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians.  You’ll laugh at Kim’s complete lack of common sense and Bruce’s sarcasm.  You’ll become frustrated with Kourtney for always being so needy, but will be envious of how gorgeous she is.  You’ll fall in love with Khloe for being the sweetest girl in the world, and you will want her and Lamar Odom to start a cute little family (c’mon, you two!).  And, if you’re anything like me, you will wish that you were friends with Kourtney’s beau Scott Disick just because he has no shame in whatever he says.

All in all, this family is dysfunctional and kooky, but how does that make it different from any other family dynamic?  Give the Kardashians a chance and their show just might become a part of your daily routine.  I know that it has become a part of mine.
