Nothing beats a carefree summer day at the beach when the only thing you need to put on your face is some sunscreen. Then there’s all of the other days when you actually want to look cute. The days where it’s 90 degrees out and everything seems to just melt right off your skin.
Surviving the heat this summer might be rough, but these products will help you get through it without turning into Frosty the Snowman.
For your skin: Skip the foundation! The only thing it’s going to do is make you feel totally weighed down, sweaty, and uncomfortable. Instead, opt for something a lot lighter–a Bb Cream, such as Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfecter B.B. Cream, which can be found pretty much anywhere (from Target to CVS and Walgreens) for $13 or under.
When you apply the Bb Cream, make sure you only put on a little but. Literally less than the size of a quarter. Dab it around your face, then blend it in. It’ll make you never want to wear foundation ever again!
For your dark spots/zits: When it’s hot out, trying to get concealer to stay on your problem areas is probably the most annoying thing in the entire world. Obviously it’s hard to find a good concealer that can tolerate the heat, but we’ve found a couple that work pretty darn good.
For a more pricey option, the No Concealer Concealer from Perricone MD has been completely raved about lately, and after trying it out, I can see why. All you need is literally a tiny dot on your finger, and that covers dark circles. When you want to cover up zits, put a tiny dot on a flat eye shadow brush (which you can get from Elf for $1!) and dab it over the blemish. It literally disappears.
Another cool thing about this product is that it is also anti-aging and protects from UVA and UVB damage. And those dark circles? Yeah, it actually treats them as it’s covering them up. Score! I also put this product on my eyelids because it works awesome as a primer for my eye shadow. It’s pretty much a triple threat.
For a little bit less expensive option, Make Up For Ever’s Full Coverage Concealer is one of the best concealers to get through hot, humid days. It has a matte finish and is oil-free and waterproof, which is the perfect combo to cover up small to major blemishes. The great thing about this concealer is that it’s really light and creamy, so when you’re putting it on, you don’t need a lot of it and it doesn’t feel like you’re putting a mask on, which I’ve found is how a lot of other concealers feel. That’s the last thing anyone wants when there’s blazing heat waiting to attack right outside the door.
