It’s no secret, but our interns at Love Twenty are pretty fabulous. And the best part? They’re from all over the United States! (Major perk of being an online mag!) Now you get the chance to meet them. And, we think you’ll love them just as much as we do.

Editorial:

Alexa Johnson is a Jersey Shore native obsessed with The Bachelorette, all prints tribal, and finding a cool summer concert to attend before heading back to school. Other than writing for Love Twenty this summer, she is interning at a local fashion and lifestyle PR firm, Push the Envelope, twice a week, working at Ann Taylor LOFT, waitressing, babysitting, and attempting to keep up with her blog, Lex & the City.

Alexa is majoring in media arts and design with a concentration in corporate communication, as well as minoring in both creative writing and anthropology, at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She admits to being a bit of an overachiever, but couldn’t see it any other way (you’d be surprised what a coffee addiction and good run good to do a girl). At JMU, she is the editor-in-chief and one of the two campus correspondents to the school’s Her Campus branch. She is also the publicity chair of Alpha Sigma Tau sorority and holds a job as a program adviser for the Office of Residence Life.

Working for a women’s magazine in New York City is her ultimate goal. She loves the idea of entertaining and empowering the college-aged crowd through wit and words.

Gina Oursler lives in Maryland and is in her last year at the University of Maryland, studying communication with a concentration in journalism and is also minoring in psychology. She’s 22 and loves Taylor Swift, animal print, and sparkly dresses. She’s obsessed with neon colored nail polish this summer… and basically nail polish in general. She enjoys playing softball, running, and shopping for clothes and shoes that she cannot truly afford (yay, credit cards!). Ideally, she’d like to move to NYC and venture out into the magazine world. She’d LOVE to write or be in the promotions department for a health magazine or for Psychology Today.

Also in her future plans, she’d like to follow the plan she set out in her head: major career by 23/24, married at 24, and possibly children by 27/28. She has been with her boyfriend for over four years, and they talk about getting married on a weekly basis. They basically have everything planned out for when the day comes, so now she just has to wait for that proposal when they’re both finished with school!

Katie Tibbett was just accepted to the University of Alabama at Birmingham for a masters in high school English eduation for the fall. She’s a runner, swimmer, and writer, and loves camping, reading, and traveling. She has wonderful friends who she tries to stay in touch with as they all go their separate ways and a loving and supportive boyfriend.

Her biggest challenge right now? Figuring out how she’s going to juggle grad school and work!

Public Relations/Social Media:

Emily Miller is a twenty-year-old junior at The George Washington University in our nation’s capital, where she’s majoring in English and minoring in journalism and mass communication. She spends a great deal of time with her nose in a book, a pen in her hand, or her face in front of a computer, so it should come as no surprise that her studies and passions in life have translated to her work as well! While she’s not exactly sure what she wants to do with her Future (yes, that’s future with a capital F!), she’s sure it will involve writing in some way or another! It has to!

She spends a lot of her free time at school, and during the summer she volunteers at Camp Kesem, a national non-profit organization that provides a free one-week summer camp for kids whose parents have or have had cancer. It’s an amazing cause that is very close to her heart, and it’s actually where she got her start with public relations!

When she’s not being a self-proclaimed lit nerd or tie-dying and singing camp songs, she spends her time cooking, baking, shamelessly posting photos of her food to Instagram, and daydreaming about traveling to the U.K., which she’ll hopefully be doing next semester! She also has a bit of a nail polish obsession, and she posts her designs frequently on her blog, www.on-hand.tumblr.com.
