Love is one of the most amazing things we experience in our lives. It can be epic and beautiful, or heartbreaking and painful. Regardless, it is one of the most special feelings, and it teaches you so much. But sometimes love ends — and that’s OK. When that happens, and after the grieving process is over, we get to the point where we need to know the right time to just let go and move on. But how do you know when it’s the right time to let go of a relationship? Honestly, I don’t think there’s ever a right time. And if there is, I really wish someone would fill us in on it. The end of a relationship is always hard because, for a time, that person was a huge part of your life and a part of who you were. Whether it’s a relationship of 6 months or 6 years, the ending of it still has an impact on both individuals involved. Just remember, it ended for a reason.

Even though sometimes those reasons might not be in your control, have faith that there is a reason for everything.

Letting go of a relationship doesn’t mean that you’re a bad person, even though sometimes it may feel that way — especially if you were the one who ended it. Always remember, letting go isn’t easy. It varies for different people, but trust me — even though it seems bad now, you’ll get to that point where you will feel ready to let go.

Every relationship teaches you something. It may have taught you about the true meaning of love, or what you truly want in a relationship. So, don’t put your life on hold! Every single second you’re hung up on this relationship, you’re avoiding living your life and creating a better future for yourself.

I’ve truly come to believe that if things are meant to be, they will be. Don’t force anything. Just because you’re not OK now doesn’t mean you won’t ever be again. You have to want to get out of this slump, you have to want to let go and move on — if you don’t, you’re never going to get anywhere. Getting over a relationship is tough, but just remember — you can’t move on unless you try.

What are your best tips for moving on after a relationship?

They say that distance makes the heart grow fonder, but when you find yourself halfway across the country from your best friend, distance pulls a fast one and those feelings of fondness quickly turn into a post-Ben-and-Jerry’s-binge mess (and we’ve all been there). Whether you’re away for three months or three years, it’s easy to fall out of sync when you continue to live your lives in each others absence.

New job (old job), new city (old city), new love (you get the picture), new people! You barely have time to shampoo and condition in the shower, let alone have a genuine catch up session. So how do you maintain BFF status in a manageable, thoughtful way? Easy. Love Twenty shows you how!

Write each other letters. I don’t know about you, but I would not say no to snail mail. In a day and age when emoticons express our feelings for us (curse you Emoji!), a handwritten note or card can be a breath of fresh air. Write a note at your desk while you’re at work and pop it in the mail room on the way to lunch. Walk down the card aisle when you’re at the drugstore and look at the blank card section. Find one that reminds you of your pal and let them know why inside. A stamp costs less than a dollar — receiving a piece of mail that isn’t from Visa will make them feel like a million bucks.

Videochat once in a while. Since teleportation isn’t a real thing yet (I wish for it every chance I get), capitalize on the innovations we do have and schedule a video chat. FaceTime, Skype, Google Hangout; pick your online spot as if you were choosing a coffee shop and enjoy one another’s pixelized company. Aim to videochat once every month, and if you have the time, do something together! Watch an episode of Community or give your friend a tour around the new apartment. It’s unlikely that you’ll be leaving on a jet plane for home anytime soon, so improvise a little.

Interact on Facebook. Or Twitter, or whatever it is you use these days. Yes, this one seems a little obvious since you probably do it quite well already, but a simple “MISS YOUR FACE” wall post lets them (and the rest of the Facebook world) know that you’ve been thinking about them. Feeling nostalgic? Creep through photo albums from the first year you met and like a few random shots you’re both tagged in. Having a solo-dance party (who hasn’t)? Post the song you’re jamming to and hope that they dance to it too. Sometimes life is all about the little things. Remember them.

When it’s all said and done, the relationship you have with your best friend will only be as strong as you both want it to be. Be patient and understanding, graceful and sincere. Meet each other half way and you’ll feel like nothing but your postal code has changed. Attached at the hip or separated by land-mass, you’re best friends for a reason.

What do you do to stay in touch with your best friends?

We’ve all been there. And by there we mean stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire, unsure on how to change our oil, or even get our stupid windshield wiper fluid to work. Whether it’s something that’s really easy to fix or not so easy at all, here’s your guide for when AAA fails and we have to be our own mechanic/superhero.

Checking Your Oil:

Uh oh — the light in your car goes on, saying you have low oil. If you ignore it, your car could overheat so it’s best to fix this problem as soon as possible.

Before checking your oil, make sure your engine isn’t hot! Shut your car off and wait about 10 minutes before doing this.

1. Pull the dipstick (yes, that’s what it’s called) out and wipe it off on an extra napkin or that leftover paper bag from McDonald’s you haven’t tossed out yet.

2. Put the dipstick all the way back in and then pull it back out.

3. See how far up the oil is on the dipstick. If it doesn’t go up very high, you’re going to need some oil. If it’s all covered, you should be good to go. If you do need oil, just buy a container and fill it up — it’s as simple as that.

Changing a Flat Tire:

This job isn’t fun, but it definitely happens! If one of your car tires goes flat (Car Tyres for our Australian readers!), don’t call a tow truck just yet — changing your tire might be easier than you think!

Watch this video we found on YouTube for a step-by-step guide on how to change a tire quickly and effectively. Warning — it’s super corny, but it’s the best one we could find!

Refilling Your Windshield Wiper Fluid:

This one seems like it would be pretty obvious and easy to do, but sometimes it’s trickier than we think, and on those summer nights when you can’t see because of how many bugs decided to smash into your view, you’ll be happy your tank is full.

1. Find your windshield wiper fluid container under the hood.

2. See how much is there, and if it’s getting empty, fill it up to the top.

3. Make sure the tube is securely connected to the tank. This is where a lot of problems happen because in some vehicles, the tube comes off and leaves you thinking you’re out of fluid when you’re really not.

4. Test it out. If a full stream covers your windshield, you’re good to go!

What tricky car situations have you been in? Let us know in the comments!

I’ve officially descended into the confusing world of a woman’s twenties and am already wondering what I’m doing. From what I’ve learned through my own barrage of questioning and research, there are no guidelines or road maps to try to navigate through these confusing years. Day after day I try to figure out what I should be doing.

I don’t think the social media is really helping either. When you see people going out or posting about internships and having these big amazing breaks it makes you jealous. Sure you’re happy for them, but that little part deep down inside of you — the evil green monster — is rearing its ugly, scaly head. How can someone be doing so great and I’m just this mediocre couch potato who is deep into a series-long One Tree Hill marathon?

But that is the issue, people are only displaying their great gains, not their lowly lows. It is the highlight reel that people chose to unleash on the web. Those nights of staying in and chowing down on Domino’s are not ones that most people want to show to the world. But the truth is these pajama-wearing, no-bra nights are present in everyone’s life. They just appear in different forms.

If you’re stuck doing something you hate, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Switch majors, quit the crummy job, break up with the loser of a boyfriend, do what’s good for you, and know that as bad as it seems now, life gets better.

I think that we need to stop trying to define every move we make and just see how it goes. For those control freaks and planners (me included) out there, I understand how hard this notion can be. By letting go, you will have peace of mind and start discovering the things you love to do.

That’s the beauty of it — the unknown. Your journey is up to you. Now is the time to figure out who you are, what you like, and what you want to do with your life. Ultimately your twenties are about finding out who you are. So before discounting this time in our lives, let’s try to sit back and enjoy.

While I was in school, toiling away at various group presentations and term papers, all my graduated friends said the same thing every time I complained about school — “It’s better than real life. Stay in school as long as you can. Don’t graduate if you can help it.” But of course, graduation did come. I was so excited for the new change in my life, but so apprehensive that all my friends would turn out to be right; that I would miss school and hate this so-called “real life.”

But these thoughts were silly. College will always be a time of special memories and friendships, but here’s the thing — fun times and amazing friends and adventures don’t just disappear once college is over.

When I was in school, I was focused on school. Sure, I hung out with my friends and had a part-time job and extra-curricular activities, but my number one goal during those years was to get my degree. Now that I’m not up late studying Russian verbs and writing English papers, I’ve been able to branch out and try random new things just because I want to. Besides that, I’ve started doing the things I majored in for fun, for passion, and for enrichment rather than for a grade.

But there was one thing I realized I missed about college life — well, besides having ice cream for dinner with my roommate. No, what I missed about school was how easy it was to measure my own success. When I was in school, I knew I was a leading a successful life because I had good friends, I got on reasonably well with my roommates, I got good grades, I worked and was involved in school activities, and had internships when school was out on top of that.

Once I was out of school, this convenient guide to measuring my life was gone. I had to decide for myself if I was successful. I couldn’t look at my G.P.A. and feel good about myself anymore. I had to sit down and decide for myself what I felt meant my life was going the right direction. I had to set personal goals rather than simply comply to assignments. I loved school, but graduating made me see my life in a new way. And that insight helped me change things about the way I lived my life.

So, in the end, if you are still elbow deep in school, out of school or somewhere in between, don’t forget to decide for yourself what constitutes success and enrichment for you personally.

Summer means ditching those beloved, figure-flattering skinnies for short shorts and flirty dresses, and that also means we’re spending more time in front of the mirror examining every tiny flaw. We all have our problem areas — everyone wants gorgeous, smooth and firm skin, but there’s only so much that working out and eating healthy can do. Sometimes the secret is all about hydration! And, that’s where NIVEA comes in. We’ve always been fans of NIVEA’s products, but formulated with Co-Enzyme Q10 Complex, NIVEA Skin Firming Body Lotion is proven within two weeks to provide firmer, more toned skin, tighter feeling skin, more resilient skin, and a softer, smoother skin texture. We’ll take up this challenge! On Day 1, our skin was probably like a lot of yours — a little dry and rugged from that lovely winter weather. We’ve been lathering on NIVEA’s lotion right after we get out of the shower then again later in the day and we’ve seen such a difference. (Even our boyfriends are noticing! And that’s a big deal.)

We were a little skeptical that two weeks could make that much of a difference, but as they say, time will tell — and it did. On Day 10, we were glowing. Actually, that was basically on Day 8. Giving our skin the moisture it needed made such a huge improvement. By Day 14, not only was our skin incredibly soft, but it looked and felt firmer too, which means we have that extra boost of confidence to slip out of our clothes and into a cute bikini for the hot summer months.

Finally after two weeks, we’re ready to show off our results in our adorable, matching dresses from SHOPBOP! (Love them?
